Not dead!

But possibly reborn?
Seriously though, I have been doing Other Things.

I got through art school.
I got a job.
I got an awesome partner in crime (boyfriend- not actually criminal.)
I got a show with an opening and heaps of candy.

During all of this nonsense, I changed my living space so many times I abandoned all hopes of having a functional setup involving both a scanner and computer with internet access. I reverted to banging two rocks together to communicate and foraging for edible moss and berries.

I stopped documenting the endless stream of work I made partway through school. A lot of it was stuff that was nearly impossible to communicate after the fact anyways. Like that ARG I made. The one that confused everybody and drove me insane. By the end of school, my drawings were three dimensional, my sculptures were ephemeral, and I was ready for a break.

I took up leatherworking. I took up sewing. I made dollies. I learned how to make canned soup taste infinitely better with only whatever is already in the fridge. I got a kitty.

Hopefully I will be going through the backlog of images I have on random devices and posting old work here. Ideally I'd like to start challenging myself to do small work again that is easy to scan, because for the last year or so I have been pretty lazy on the day to day stuff.

If I just disappear again for another five years, don't be surprised. I'm just terrible at dealing with human contact in general, folks. But that doesn't mean I don't love you.

So there.

My mother is the most beautiful woman I have ever met.
And I really really hope she gets better soon.

We will now return to our regular schedule of art-prattle and pleasing creative diversions.

Land O' Lakes

Time for another trip into the shadow of America's hat(canada)- that is, the mighty MN. Again I'm going to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with no internet access, so I won't be commenting, updating or doing anything good at all. But at least I'll get to catch fireflies, and maybe even paint. Have a lovely 4th!

So I've randomly had two separate groups of people walk by my window singing songs I know the lyrics to- Bohemian Rhapsody, and My Dick by Mickey Avalon- and I swear, if another comes by I'm going to chime in (I live on the third floor, so I can sing unseen from above, not unlike the Phantom of the Opera...)

That said, I am finally done with school and will be posting more art over the summer (hopefully) I have a lot of projects that I photographed but never edited/cropped/whatever, including a day of the dead figure, two electronic art pieces, a giant, welded death-vase (long story) and some tiny paintings.

I find myself wanting to do more models/dioramas, but I worry that they would be a waste of space/time (mostly space.) Do you think they'd be worth it? Would you ever buy a diorama/shadowbox? (Assuming you posses enough cash to buy other people's art :p )

Wow. I just had my socks rocked off and out the door. I can die happy now, I think.
